Issues to Pay Attention to When Using Hydraulic Systems

For the adjustment of pressure control components, the system pressure control valve, specifically the relief valve, is generally adjusted first. Start from a pressure of zero and gradually increase the pressure until it reaches the specified pressure value. Then, sequentially adjust the pressure control valves of each circuit. The adjustment pressure of the safety relief valve of the main hydraulic pump should generally be greater than 10% to 25% of the working pressure required by the actuating components. The pressure valve of the fast-moving hydraulic pump is usually adjusted to be greater than the required pressure by 10% to 20%. If the unloading pressure is used to supply the control oil circuit and lubrication circuit, the pressure should be maintained within the range of 0.3 to 0.6 MPa. The adjustment pressure of the pressure relay should generally be lower than the oil supply pressure by 0.3 to 0.5 MPa.

Issues to Pay Attention to When Using Hydraulic Systems

1) Users should understand the working principle of the hydraulic system and be familiar with the positions and rotation directions of various operation and adjustment handles.

2) Before starting, check whether the adjustment handles and handwheels on the system have been moved by unrelated personnel, whether the positions of the electrical switches and limit switches are normal, and whether the tools on the main machine are installed correctly and securely. Then wipe the exposed parts of the guide rail and piston rod before starting.

3) When starting, first activate the hydraulic pump that controls the oil circuit. If there is no dedicated hydraulic pump for controlling the oil circuit, the main hydraulic pump can be started directly.

4) Hydraulic oil should be checked and replaced regularly. For newly used hydraulic equipment, the oil tank should be cleaned and new oil replaced after about 3 months of use. Thereafter, cleaning and oil replacement should be done once every six months to one year.

5) During operation, always pay attention to the oil level. Under normal working conditions, the oil temperature in the tank should not exceed 60°C. If the oil temperature is too high, cooling measures should be taken, and hydraulic oil with higher viscosity should be used. If the temperature is too low, preheating should be performed, or intermittent operation should be conducted before operation to gradually raise the oil temperature before entering the formal working state.

6) Check the oil level to ensure the system has sufficient oil.

7) Systems with exhaust devices should be vented, while systems without exhaust devices should operate back and forth multiple times to allow gas to escape naturally.

8) The oil tank should be sealed with a cover, and an air filter should be installed at the vent hole on the oil tank to prevent the intrusion of dirt and moisture. When adding oil to the hydraulic device, it should be filtered to keep the oil clean.

9) The system should be equipped with coarse and fine filters as needed, and the filters should be regularly checked, cleaned, and replaced.

10) For adjusting pressure control components, generally, first adjust the system pressure control valve—relief valve, starting from zero pressure and gradually increasing the pressure to reach the specified pressure value; then adjust the pressure control valves of each circuit in turn. The adjustment pressure of the safety relief valve of the main oil circuit hydraulic pump should generally be greater than 10%-25% of the working pressure required by the actuating components. The pressure valve of the fast-moving hydraulic pump should generally be adjusted to be greater than 10%-20% of the required pressure. If the unloading pressure is used to supply the control oil circuit and lubrication circuit, the pressure should be maintained within the range of 0.3-0.6MPA. The adjustment pressure of the pressure relay should generally be lower than the supply pressure by 0.3-0.5MPA.

11) The flow control valve should be adjusted from a small flow to a large flow, and adjustments should be made gradually. The flow control valves of synchronously moving actuating components should be adjusted simultaneously to ensure smooth movement.
